One of the worst things that I can hear is that a band is thinking about tossing the towel in, you know, giving up. 

They feel this way as they start to feel nobody cares about their music. 

It also creates issues between the band members as the motivation slowly dies out. 

They wanted to make music for fun, because they have a passion for it, but then things do not go the way they hoped they would. 

They feel nobody is listening, and why keep making music if that is the case they start to wonder. 

It is like any job where if you feel you are not being cared about, if you are getting ignored, or if your team leader makes you feel like you do not matter.
